PNG Australia Association of Victoria Shines at Moomba Festival 2025

The Papua New Guinea Australia Association of Victoria (PNGAAV) proudly took part in Melbourne’s iconic Moomba Festival 2025, showcasing the vibrant culture, traditions, and spirit of Papua New Guinea.

Dressed in colorful traditional attire, our members marched alongside other multicultural communities in the Moomba Parade, waving the PNG flag high and sharing our music, dance, and warm smiles with thousands of spectators. The crowd was energized by the lively beats of the kundu drums and the graceful movements of traditional dancers, creating a vibrant and unforgettable atmosphere.

This was PNGAAV’s first time participating in the Moomba Festival, and it marked a major milestone for our community — putting Papua New Guinea’s rich heritage in the spotlight on one of Melbourne’s biggest stages. It was a proud moment to see our people, young and old, come together to celebrate and share our culture with the wider Australian public.
